My Background:
I am currently working in the field of sustainable and smart cities, and I am passionate about bringing public health topics and skills beyond traditional spaces to create a healthier, more equitable world for all. I hold a MPH (with focuses in Health Policy and Program Planning & Evaluatuon) from The George Washington University and a B.A. in Health & Societies from the University of Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in New Orleans and currently live in Arlington, VA.
My Work History:
I've worked/volunteered in and with the non-profit, public, and private sectors, on topics ranging from food insecurity and food safety to built environment issues and implementations. My current and previous employers include the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (on assignment to the Virgina Department of Health, Office of Environmental Health Services), and my current employer BABLE Smart Cities, a company based in Europe and working with cities around the globe to improve urban life through innovation and toward reaching big environmental goals like climate neutrality.
My Interests:
I have particular interests and experience in improving health outcomes and reducing poverty by way of built environment, active and public transportation, smart technologies and citizen-driven solutions. On a personal level, I am an avid bike commuter (ask me about my cargo bike!) and an active mobility infrastructure advocate.
