  • AHRQ Offers Multiyear Analysis Tutorial

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is pleased to offer health services researchers, students, and data analysts its free interactive online “Multiyear Analysis Tutorial” for using record-level data from the Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS), Kid’s Inpatient Database (KID), and Nationwide Emergency Department Database (NEDS). The course is the newest in AHRQ’s series of Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) tutorials. HCUP is a family of health care databases and related software tools and products used for healthcare research and decision making. Each course in the series of HCUP tutorials is modular. This allows users to either move through the entire course or access only those data resources, tools, or products in which they are most interested. Five other tutorials are available to learn about: HCUP data, tools, and products; sample design; loading and checking data; calculating standard errors; and producing national estimates. To access the HCUP Online Tutorials, go to http://www.hcup-us.ahrq.gov/overviewcourse.jsp. For more information about HCUP, go to http://www.hcup-us.ahrq.gov/overview.jsp.
