NALBOH’s latest environmental health webinar will discuss the National Prevention Strategy and its approach to ensuring healthy and safe community environments. Participants will be introduced to the National Prevention Strategy, hear details about the Healthy and Safe Community Environments strategic direction, and learn recommendations for actions that local boards of health and health departments can take. There will also be a discussion around a local example of implementation of the Strategy: Clark County Public Health’s Growing Healthier program. Brendon Haggerty, Program Coordinator at Clark County Public Health (WA), will explain the work they are doing to connect land-use planning and health, as well as share information on the important role their Public Health Advisory Council has played in this process.
