In early September 2013, the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI), in partnership with Continual Impact, LLC, will issue a Call for Proposals for a Strengthening the Community of Practice for Public Health Improvement (COPPHI) Kaizen Event Program, pending approval of funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Selected health departments will receive training in quality improvement and kaizen event methodology for rapid improvement in public health. In addition, those selected will have a QI coach to co-lead a kaizen event at the health department. Applicants will need to propose a specific QI project applicable to the kaizen event methodology and commit to the necessary resources. Proposals will be due in early October 2013.
