  • CDC’s activities for American Heart Month

    CDC and other federal agencies have planned activities to observe America Heatlh Month in February. This annual health observance serves is an opportunity to remind people about heart health and what they can do to prevent heart disease. American Heart Month presents another opportunity for CDC grantees to promote the Million HeartsTM initiative. The following is a brief outline of activities planned: February 1: CDC.gov Feature on American Heart Month February 7: MMWR Vital Signs release-The report focuses on excess sodium consumption in the US population and how it contributes to high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease February 9: MMWR Report on Congenital Heart Defects February 21 at 1:00pm Eastern: Live streaming of CDC Public Health Grand Rounds on the Million HeartsTM initiative on www.cdc.gov CDC encourages you to promote each activity or event on your web sites, social media channels, and in other communications. Discussion questions are attached for those who wish to convene partners for grand rounds viewing events.
