Dr. Yelena Smart is a New York City native who obtained her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from CUNY Brooklyn College. She went on to graduate at the top of her class from SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan. She completed her residency at the NJ VA with emphasis on ocular disease, primary eye care and low vision. She has been an attending physician at the New Jersey VA for over a decade. She resides in Monmouth County, NJ with her husband and two children.
