Dr. Viviana Gonzalez graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2019 and completed her residency in ocular disease at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic the following year. She gained valuable experience in collaborative, multidisciplinary care at a federally qualified health center before joining the University of Houston College of Optometry as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 2023. Dr. Gonzalez currently practices at UHCO-affiliated community clinics in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which serve as clinical externship sites for fourth-year optometry students. Her clinical interests include health equity, patient education, and interprofessional collaboration in underserved communities.
