Dr. Mulugeta Gebregziabher, PhD


Bio

Dr. Mulugeta Gebregziabher is a tenured Professor of Biostatistics and Vice Chair for Academic Programs at Department of Public Health Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He is Training Director of the MPH in Biostatistics Degree Program and Director of the Region IV Public Health Training Center for South Carolina. He is a Health Research Scientists in the Ralph Johnson VA Medical Center and Leads the Methods Core of the HERO Innovation Center.

He is Fellow of the American Statistical Association. Among his many awards, recently, he was recognized for his outstanding mentorship with the MUSC Lift As You Climb Mentorship Award. 

In addition to his statistical methodology development work, he has been collaborating with local, national and international institutions and researchers in the study of identifying risk factors for chronic and non-chronic diseases. He is interested in global health and serves as member of the advisory board of the MUSC Center for Global Health. He is a good citizen who volunteers his time and resources for community services. He is founding President of Gezana Building Better Tomorrow Foundation Inc. (www.Gezana-BBT.org) and serves on advisory boards of charity organizations, which are all registered as 501(c3)) in the United States of America.
