Beatrice Mkpa is a public health professional, microbiologist, and a researcher. She currently serves as the Research Chair of the Vision Care Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA), where she supports research andcollaboration to improving eye health outcomes. Beatrice holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, with experience in data analysis, public health research, regulatory-focused laboratory work and biomedical quality systems. She has worked with the Worcester Department of Public Health and University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where she contributed to data analysis, public health programs and data-driven decision-making. She currently works as a Quality Control Technician supporting pharmaceutical quality systemsand laboratory testing in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) principes. Beatrice is passionate about maternal health research, vision health research and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration to address health disparities.
